Be sure to try the Bloody Mary at The Astor Bar too. The classic cocktail was invented at the original St Regis Hotel in New York in 1933. The Singapore version, ‘Chilli Padi Mary’, has an Asean kick, substituting Chinese old ginger, lemongrass, chilli padi (extra spicy chilli) and sugar syrup for Worcestershire and Tabasco.
