  Photo Story: Beijing Marathon

The Beijing Marathon may not yet be one of the world's signature
street races. But the recent event provided a final opportunity for
the 2008 Beijing Olympic organisers to test their streetside
operational and security mechanisms ahead of August's big Olympic run.

Although the quality of the field for the Beijing Marathon was
relatively poor, the security operation was rigorously considered and
implemented. Police, military and security guards patrolled the entire route - which gave us the idea to combine sport and security on the streets of China's capital for this month's Scribes Photo Story.
